Roger concentrates a lot of his energy towards helping others as well as himself grow in the fullness of the gospel. He is amazed at the popularity of the LDS Friends Worldwide site and how it has grown since he started it on December 1st of 1995.
"I started the site just because I thought it would be a lot of fun." Roger says. "I am truly thankful that it has helped so many people in so many ways."
"I'd like to thank all of the brothers and sisters who have helped me maintain the site, and especially the brother who wrote the program to automate the listings."
Roger is the oldest of seven children. He was raised LDS in Orlando Florida until his senior year when his family moved to Farmington, Utah. "I like living both in areas where they are a lot of Church members and also where there are hardly any members. Both offer unique blessings. Those who live outside of high Church population areas and think that they're better for not "being sheltered" need to lose their attitude and experience how it really is by living there. On the other hand, those who have lived in high Church population areas their whole life and think that they're better also need to lose their attitude and experience life outside of a high Church population area. A mission for two years outside of a high Church population area doesn't give you the same experience as living there either. I feel fortunate to have grown up in Florida where I saw the Church grow and also fortunate to have lived in Utah during my senior year and college years. I miss not having a lot of opportunities to share the gospel as I did in Orlando. I would like to move back there after I graduate. I love the ocean and any water sport." Roger says.
He served his mission in Louisville, Ky., and he currently attends Utah Valley State College part-time pursuing a BS in Computer Science/Networking. His favorite pastimes are hiking, mountain biking, and acting on stage.
Roger gets a lot of Email (and he actually reads it). He welcomes any suggestions or comments about the site. Drop him a line. You'll be glad you did!
