Dear Friends Worldwide:
As many of you know, on July 23 our server provider* informed us that our outstanding debt of $1,658.29 (U.S.) must be paid by August 1. We told you on the 24th that we needed your help to keep the site alive.
We are very thankful for the help we've received the last few days! 54 of you have sent in encouraging letters and contributions totalling $523.00. One sister wrote, "THANK YOU so much for your site, and I hope that this helps in some way. I have met wealths of wonderful people through your site, and cannot believe I hesitated in sending money" (July 25). Another wrote, "I got your letter via email today, and want to do everything I can do to help! I love your service & have found countless amounts of friends on-line!" (July 25). These are important steps in our progress. Unfortunately, this leaves us with 68% or $1135.29 yet to be paid!
So, you may be asking, "What happens to the site tommorrow after the deadline?" Alrighty then, hearken ye all to today's good news! Due to our webmaster's skillful plea bargaining with our server provider, we have obtained an extension of the deadline until August 30 (which, by the way, is my birthday... hint, hint ;-)
We extend our plea now to all those who have not yet made a contribution. Our circumstances still are in the danger zone. If you haven't contributed, then DO IT! DO IT! If it's the last thing I have to say, then do it! We have faith that with everyone's help we will succeed. Can we make you see what this site will accomplish on into the future? We have the dream; everybody's thinking up ways to use the Internet for good purposes.
